Omari Hall aka Hir-O: Super Duper Music Producer, songwriting facilitator, beat-maker; Omari is an up and coming producer from Detroit, MI. 2009 graduate of Oberlin College and he enjoys working with young people.

Geoff Kinde: Musician, teacher, songwriting facilitator, producer; After receiving a Bachelor of Music from Wayne State University, Geoff went on the road with The Atomic Fireballs. They signed to Atlantic Records and are on the soundtracks for Scooby-Doo, American Pie, Three to Tango and The Haunted Mansion. He plays with a number of bands around Detroit, teaches privately and occasionally does tv commercials.

Ken Kozora:  Musician, composer, educator, performer; Ken has taught many varied music workshops, including sequencing & group drumming.  He's worked with with special needs populations, including emotionally impaired children, and provides private and group sessions for “those who think and learn in a different way“, as he likes to say!

Starlet Lee: Songwriting Facilitator, Songwriter; Starlet Dorothy Lee is a songwriter from Detroit who works with young people in her community and around the city. She finds her place in the movement through uplifting people through her original music.

Brandon Mitchell aka MC Kadence:  MC, songwriter, songwriting facilitator;
Since age 13 Kadence has taken an interest in hip-hop,  directing his focus toward beats, rhymes & rhythms. 
Kadence hopes to move forward (most notably through dynamic future collaborations) both in his personal evolution as a rap artist, as well as in the cultivation of a new movement in Hip Hop.

Jesse Morgan: Chief Creative Operations Officer, Owner & Founder; Jesse started the very first incarnation of Community Records on Dec 31, 2007. It's his personal mission in life to make this company/community resource go and keep going. Jesse has a B.S. in Education, B.S. in Music and is working on an MSW in Social Work.

Tony Morgan aka SKLFL: Freestyle MC, songwriter, mentor, coach, community organizer, activist; Anthony’s lifelong dream and vision has always been to empower AND engage youth, to see them blossom to their full potential. He believes that youth need to embrace the vitality, creativity and purpose that will empower and mobilize them to lead our future generations.  He will aid them in any way that he can.

Mechial White, Jr. aka The Groovematist:  producer, composer/arranger, teacher, performer, the groovematic arts; Ever since Mechial can remember, he has had grooves in his head. Constantly humming, he would bang out the beats in his head on his school desk and thought pencils were better suited as drumsticks, rather than writing utensils.

Jesse Morgan, Chief Creative Operations Officer (jesse@CRL3C.org)
Jesse Morgan has a BS in Education, Secondary English & Sociology major/minor, and a BS in Music. Jesse taught high school English for two years at Westwood Community Schools in Dearborn Heights, MI and four years at Oxford Community Schools in Oxford, MI. He taught K-8 general music at a school for gifted education in Farmington Hills for three years, serving as an arts administrator for two of those years. It was here that he created, implemented and managed a summer arts camp as well as the Kids Rock Academy, an after school rock music program for young people. Previously, Jesse worked as a teacher and site director for Day Jams Rock Music Day Camps LLC for four years. In 2006, Jesse founded Community Records, which became the nonprofit Community Records Foundation and is currently Community Records L3C.  

Justin Fenwick, Chief Business Strategy Officer (justin@CRL3C.org)
Justin Fenwick has a BA in Economics and Business and has a MBA in Sustainable Business, with a focus in Sustainable Community Economic Development. Much of Justin's research has been around community and network theory as well as facilitation and brainstorming techniques. As an AmeriCorps*VISTA and Arts Alliance's Community Outreach Manager he developed extensive experience in community partnership development with nonprofits and local schools and volunteer engagement. Along with extensive training on the topic, he has consulted on strategic planning for Community Records Foundation (the precursor to Community Records L3C) and the B.Side at Eastern Michigan University. He is also a poet and believes that creativity is an essential part to any successful endeavor. 


Akili Jackson

Akili Jackson has over 10 years experience as a Youth Development Coordinator specializing in programs that inspire positive character development in students. As an advocate for community based programs, he has participated in and coordinated groundbreaking urban projects that served to motivate parents, and inspire students to become forces for positive change in their communities. He has conducted workshops in Community Education using Hip Hop music as a tool for communities in Columbus OH, Atlanta GA, and Manhattan NYC. He has presented as a frequent guest speaker for the National African American Parent Involvement Day (NAAPID) and a panelist/speaker at Antioch University, University of Pittsburg, and University of Windsor Law School. Akili has served as a guest lecturer at Washtenaw Community College for African Poetry and Literature and at Eastern Michigan University for “Building Effective Classroom Communities”.

Commuity Records L3C maintains an active roster of many skilled musicians and teachers able support your customized program. All receive background checks, undergo training, and have the necessary experience to ensure the best program possible. For music production and support, there are engineers and producers who are also apart of our team.
