MIDI Live Performance Recording Workshop - Learn about music production while improvising & recording your own original music.
Meet the Beat - Start by listening to your own heartbeat in this class that explores the role of rhythm in our lives and our communities. Play to a wide range of percussion instruments. This class is structured for group participation and guided individual development.
Beat-making Using a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) - Create, improvise and record instrumental music together! Learn about musical concepts (including tempo, time signature, timbre, and rhythm) and express yourself through music and production. Advanced concepts involve the integration of the computer and related software.
Music Appreciation - Take a journey thru time and discover how people have used music to record the values, virtues and visions of the human experience. Learn how people across the globe have used the art of music to define their reality and chart both their individual and collective walks through the human experience. Join us as we take a look at lessons that they’ve left behind to discover what messages they bring us for the present and future.
(Intro to) Conscious Hip Hop – This class is an interactive exploration of hip hop with a POSITIVE message. Learn about conscious hip hop. Explore the lyrics, music & concepts put forth by community-minded MC's. Learn basic rapping skills and performance techniques.
